Recital about the 1st world war

In 2018, the centenary year of the Armistice of World War I, Sylvia Cazeneuve presents a recital including works of musicians sent to the front and musicians witnesses of the suffering of the war. This recital includes musical works of several composers.

- Maudite soit la guerre (Cursed be the war)
The first war was truly deadly, many musicians who - soldiers or not - were markedly marked by this period. From this era, the scores that evoke suffering, but also resignation, solidarity or even amusement abound.
To name few composers: Gabriel Fauré, Nadia Boulanger, Camille Saint-Saëns, Claude Debussy, André Caplet, Fernand Halphen... not to mention contemporary music Isabelle Aboulker.


With a few piano interludes and an intermission, this recital lasts 1:30.

This recital had received the world premiere of the work specially composed by Isabelle Aboulker on a George Duhamel text
